New Year Resolutions Part 1

As crazy as the title for this blog post is, it is coming to the end of another year and the usual ritual of thinking and deciding on 2017’s new year resolutions is drawing close. I do not know about you but I often forget to think about work when it comes to new year resolutions and usually consider ones to do with giving up a bad habit…too much sugar or doing more exercise….run/walk/cycle/Pilates three times a week. This year I am asking myself, what about a work related new year resolution.

So for 2017, why not think about a new year resolution to do with your job or workplace. A great one for us all to think about is our work life balance. Trying to get that healthy balance between work and our personal lives can be tricky and not always possible. 2017 can be the year that we try and get this a bit more equal.

For me 2017 will be about having my lunch away from my desk…a really bad habit of mine and one I am ready to shake off in 2017.

Some ideas to focus on your work life balance could be…

·       Finish work before 6pm two nights a week

·       Eat lunch away from your desk at least three days a week

·       Go for a 20-minute walk during the day to clear your head

·       Take a lunch time exercise class or yoga/Pilates class once a week
