3 tips – Best advice I received

So we all get a lot of advice when we are working…some useless and some worthwhile. For me there are some key pieces of advice that have stuck with me that I wanted to share with you.

1.Always remain calm.

This can be difficult if you are in a situation that is challenging in the workplace but it is a really effective way of managing yourself. If you find you are dealing with someone who is being difficult remaining calm is very effective. The result is that you remain professional and not drawn into something that should have been avoided in the workplace.

2. Be respectful and courteous to all

It always amazes me in the workplace where individuals are respectful and courteous to their seniors and not to their peers or those more junior. Your behaviours and actions say a lot about you so try and take the time to treat people how you would like to be treated. Never underestimate how much your behaviours and actions influence your promotional opportunities – it is not always solely based on your deliverables.

3. Keep organised

The world of work and business is more fast passed than ever so keeping organised and on top of your workload is more essential than ever. Take the time to figure out how you like to keep yourself organised and on top of your role to make sure you can be as efficient as possible.
